Business acumen
I get business from the inside out. I’ve studied it, and have an MBA in project and operations management. I’ve worked in it: software development, computer center operations, engineering and construction project management, banking operations, and securities trading. And I’ve owned it: a newspaper, a business consulting business, a financial planning consultancy. And of course, business communications.
I thrive on outside-the-box thinking, but I also carry a briefcase full of market-tested solutions. Put them together and magic happens.
Writing talent
I have designed, written and produced a wide variety of successful business plans, investor packages, RFP responses, business proposals, and the web sites and executive presentations that go with them. How successful? Mostly, they closed the deal, and when they didn’t, it wasn’t because of the package. Happy client rate? 100%.

Project management
I've been managing projects my entire career, from small one-person software development projects performed in a comfortable office cubicle to $55 million engineering and construction projects executed in the middle of the Saudi Arabian desert.
I'm comfortable with tight deadlines and cool in the face of impossible ones. Been there, done that.
